Location: Room 134
From 1978 to 2002, photographer Frédéric Brenner travelled the world documenting Jewish life across the diaspora. He also discovered some inescapable paradoxes of diaspora Jewish identity. In this session, we will explore these paradoxes through Brenner’s dramatic and richly layered photographs as well as traditional and contemporary Jewish texts.
